Multi-award-winning author Wendy H. Jones writes gripping crime fiction, engaging children’s books, and practical writing guides. Known for creating compelling characters and absorbing stories, she has built an international readership and is a popular speaker at literary festivals, conferences, and writing events worldwide.

Born and raised in Dundee, Scotland, Wendy developed a love of reading at an early age, devouring every book in her local library before successfully persuading the librarian to issue her with an adult library card while still a child. That lifelong passion for books eventually led to her becoming a published author.

After serving for twenty-three years in the British Armed Forces, first in the Royal Navy and then the Army, Wendy travelled extensively throughout the Far and Middle East. Her experiences of different cultures, people and places continue to influence the settings and authenticity of her writing.

Following a successful career in academia, where she contributed to academic textbooks and journals, Wendy returned to Dundee to pursue her passion for writing full-time.

She is the author of the DI Shona McKenzie Mysteries, the humorous Cass Claymore Investigates series, the Bertie the Buffalo children’s books, and the Writing Matters series of guides for authors. Her cosy crime anthologies – A Right Cozy Crime and Cozy Crimes – have also introduced readers to a wide range of talented crime writers. 

Wendy is a sought-after international speaker on writing, publishing and marketing, and is a writing and marketing coach. She is the Past President of the Scottish Association of Writers and serves on the Board of Sisters in Crime, the international organisation supporting crime writers worldwide.

When she is not writing, Wendy enjoys travelling, exploring Scotland and beyond, spending time with family, and encouraging writers to achieve their publishing ambitions.
